Arsenal vs Crystal Palace
- never heard of a manager quitting his team the day before the season begins so Palace players must be pretty shocked. Pulis pulled off a miracle last year taking the worst team in the league and keeping them up and while I've never liked his "hit and hope" style it has always worked with small payroll teams like Stoke and Palace. When looking at squad market values the gunners are in the 400M euro range, Palace just north of 50M so there is a massive quality difference as Ozil is basically worth the same as the entire Palace squad. Saw Palace in preseason and they're dismal. They drew Columbus, squeaked by Philly, and were pretty awful vs 3rd division Richmond despite the 3-0 win... then finished it off by losing at Championship side Brentford. Last year Arsenal won both derbies with identical 2-0 scores and that sounds about right for today. Last season Palace were 1-0-9 6/19 vs top half teams away, Arsenal 8-1-1 23/8 vs bottom half teams at home. If you don't want to lay -1.5 goals some another option is Arsenal HT/FT -120. Arsenal already have a competitive game under their belt with the Supporter's Shield victory over City and I can see the Gunners absolutely blitzing a shocked Palace team today
Arsenal -1.5 -110 risk 1.5u
